Elm City YouthBuild (ECYB) is an exciting youth and community development program with a chapter based in New Haven, Connecticut and supported by Empower New Haven, Inc. This nationally recognized program targets young people who have been particularly challenged by personal, social and economic conditions.
As active participants of Elm City YouthBuild, students will pursue their GED or High School Diploma, as well as receive counseling and personal development tools. Through ECYB, students gain access to a national network of young adults and receive assistance with job placement and seeking post-secondary education. Youth receive an incentive stipend for their participation, as well as a variety of services and supports to promote their continuing success as responsible community members.
Elm City YouthBuild seeks to join with community partners to help build a movement towards a more just society in which respect, love, responsibility and cooperation are the dominant unifying values. Sufficient opportunities are available for eligible young adults within the community to fulfill their own potential and contribute to the well-being of others.
