Empower New Haven, Inc.’s mission is to facilitate or create processes and practices that provide sustainable measurable improvements in the economic status and quality of life of individuals, families, and businesses within the Empowerment Zone (EZ) community. The Empowerment Zone includes 10 census tracts that cover portions of the Dixwell, Dwight, Fair Haven, Hill, Newhallville, and West Rock neighborhoods.

Empower New Haven Inc.’s primary goal is to increase employment and reduce underemployment for EZ youth and adult residents, improve access to education for adults, remove barriers to economic viability for businesses and families, create jobs and improve business development within the Empowerment Zone through development, recruitment, and retention.
