It is the mission of Empower New Haven to facilitate or create processes and practices that provide sustainable measurable improvements in the economic status and quality of life of individuals, families and businessess.
In order to make this "lasting difference for generations to come" we daily work in partnership with the community agencies, and coordinate community initiatives.
Whether you are for example in business, interested in starting a business, seeking to purchase a home, seeking a viable employment alternative to your current situation or looking to better equip your non-profit , we may be able to work with you as your pursue your ambitions.
Nothing is of course guaranteed, but via our partnerships with for example, The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, The Greater New Haven Business and Professional Association, The Spanish American Merchants Association, The Women's Business Development Center,The Construction Workforce Initiative 2, Project Hope, Junta, The Housing Authority of New Haven, Christian Community Action, the Marine Cadets, Granville Academy, New Life Corporation,Adult Ed and Youth@Work, numerous New Haven businesses and citizens have seized the opportunity to tap into our resources.

In addition, our New Haven SAVES initiative enable's eligible New Haven residents to save and to have their savings matched per program guidlines.Your savings and the matching dollars can be used toward the purchase of a home, starting a business or pursuiing post secondary education.

Also our MIHomepower Initiative is an innovative initiative designed for first time homeowners and our IDA initiative has recently reopened.
Our Buiding Contractors Training and Mentorship initiative provides another example of economic opportunity for those in this field.
Our soon to be launched New Haven Youth Build and Communities Empowering Youth initiatives provide significant opportunities re youth career mobility and enhancing youth serving agency capacity.
